Focus for the initial phase of implementation

The initial phase of implementation focuses on establishing governance arrangements, including process agreements and setting up regional spatial plan committees and secretariats.  

Technical guidance

More technical guidance to support the initial phase of the spatial planning process will soon be available. 

We will also provide more information on the work that local authorities, regional spatial plan committees and secretariats can start to support spatial plan development ahead of the release of national policy direction, standards and regulations in 2027.
